Before you start
Make sure you have access to the Reports section in your Glu admin area.
1 ᐧ Go to the gift cards report
In your Glu admin area, head to Gift cards in the left navigation, click Reports, and select the Gift cards report.
2 ᐧ Filter by status
Apply a filter on Current status and select Expired to show all expired gift cards. To narrow this down further, add a date range filter to show gift cards that expired within a specific period, such as last month.
3 ᐧ Customise your view
The report will update instantly. Use the column settings to show only the data you need.
4 ᐧ Export the data
Click Export to download the filtered report as a CSV.
How to use this report
Breakage and unused balances
Filter for expired gift cards to find the total amount of breakage over any time period. The report also shows what was originally paid for those gift cards, making it straightforward to recognise breakage in your accounts.
Remind customers before their gift card expires
Filter for gift cards that are still valid but due to expire in the future. The report includes customer data, making it easy to reach out with a reminder to come in and use their balance.
💡 Good to know: Customers often spend more than their gift card balance when they redeem, so a timely reminder can be more valuable than letting a card expire; plus it helps drive bookings or purchases during quieter periods.
