Before you start
Make sure you have an existing gift card set up before adjusting validity settings. How to create a gift card.
1 ᐧ Go to Gift cards
In your Glu admin area, click Gift cards in the left navigation.
2 ᐧ Select your gift card
Click on the gift card you want to update, or click Create new if you're starting from scratch.

3 ᐧ Go to the Validity section
Scroll down to the Validity section of the page and untick Validity defaults. Validity fields will appear.
4 ᐧ Set your validity period
Select the validity period and length to set how long the gift card will be valid for after purchase.
5 ᐧ Set a valid from period (optional)
To make the gift card valid from a future date, tick Has valid from period. Additional fields will appear - select the valid from period and set the valid from length.
📚 Note: If you set a future valid from date, the gift card will display as "not yet valid" to customers until that date is reached.
6 ᐧ Save
Click Save and your validity rules are set.
💡 Good to know: Limited validity gift cards work particularly well for seasonal promotions or last-minute offers where creating a deadline encourages faster purchasing decisions.
