Before you start
Make sure you have your terms and conditions, preferred validity period, and code format ready before getting started.
1 ᐧ Go to Settings
In your Glu admin area, click Settings in the main navigation.
2 ᐧ Go to Stores
Find the Stores option in the settings grid or select it from the left navigation.
3 ᐧ Scroll to Gift card defaults
Scroll down to the Gift card defaults section. Here you can set your default validity, terms and conditions, and redeem code pattern for all new gift cards.
4 ᐧ Set your redeem code pattern
Choose the length and format of your gift card codes using the following characters:
A — random letter
N — random number
X — random letter or number
5 ᐧ Set your validity period
Select the validity period and length to set how long gift cards will be valid for after purchase.
To make gift cards valid from a future date by default, tick Has valid from period and set the valid from length.
6 ᐧ Add your terms and conditions
Enter your terms and conditions in the text field. These will automatically appear on all new gift cards by default.
7 ᐧ Save
Click Save and your defaults are set.
🤓 Tip: Every default can be overridden on individual gift card pages whenever you need something different for a specific product.
