How to use member data to personalise Klaviyo emails

Improve engagement by personalising member emails with unique member data such as tier, credit balance or member ID.

Once you have built your email template you'll need to decide which parts you'd like to personalise, then select them from the personalisation button in Klaviyo's formatting toolbar (see image).

The list of available data will vary based on your Glu implementation, but some of the most commonly used are shown in the table below.

Property name

Personalisation data

Glu_Credit_Balance

The amount of credit or points a member has.

Glu_Membership_Code

When a members credit balance is updated.

Glu_Custom_Field

Unique data from your custom enrolment form.

Glu_Membership_tier

The members current tier.

Heads up - Glu can also send messages from its own workflows. To avoid duplicates, make sure no message is attached to your Glu workflow.
