How to automate a reward workflow

Learn the basics on how to automatically reward a customer based on their behaviour, and add value to their wallet using a Glu workflow.

1 ᐧ Login to your Glu account

The possibilities with workflows are almost limitless, so we've restricted this article to the basic setup steps and will provide individual use cases as separate articles.

2 ᐧ Create a new workflow

  1. From the left-hand menu, go to Workflows (reverse arrows icon).

  2. Click Create new to start building your first workflow.

  3. Give the workflow a name that identifies what the workflow will do.

3 ᐧ Add a trigger that starts the workflow

Workflows always start with a trigger. I.e. An event that starts the chain of events you configure within the flow.

The number of triggers you have access to will be unique to your Glu setup - here's a list of the most commonly used:

Trigger

Happens when

Contact added

A new profile is added to Glu (via any means)

Member enrolled

A new member enrols to your programme(s)

Order created

An new order/sale happens online or in-store

Booking created

A new booking is made via your booking engine

Booking status changed

From 'Arriving' to 'Checked-in' for example

Referral completed

A referral code is used against a transaction

Anniversary of a date

A set period of time has lapsed since a date

4 ᐧ Configure the conditions of your trigger

Every trigger has conditions that determine how it operates and these will appear in a configuration bar to the right when you add your first.

You can click on a trigger node block at anytime to change its type or conditions.

Worth noting - Much like actions, some triggers can also send events / metrics to your CRM (for communication purposes), so Glu now shows both the CRM icon and the event / metric name for easy reference when building flows.

5 ᐧ Add an Action or Condition to your workflow

  1. From the workflow canvas, click 'Add' (+) and choose either an action that you'd like to happen or a condition, which will split the workflow into two paths.

  2. Configure your chosen action or condition in the side bar which will appear automatically.

  3. Then click 'Done' to save - you can edit by clicking on the node block at anytime.
