What you'll need
Access to the DNS records for the domain you want to use. Sometimes you'll have an agency managing this for you, otherwise it will often be with the domain registrar you pay for the domain, or other services like Cloudflare.
Configure the store with the new domain
In Glu go to settings then stores. In the top left click to apply a custom domain and type in the desired subdomain or domain you want to use.
It will turn to a Pending status while we wait for the DNS records needed to be created.
Create or update the DNS record
Create (Or update if you're moving from another platform.) the DNS record in your domain, using the following details.
Record type | CNAME |
Name | The subdomain you want to use |
Value | cname.glu.io |
Depending on the provider responsible for your domain it can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours for a DNS record to become visible, usually changes are visible within an hour or two for most.
Once our system detects the new DNS record, the status will transition to Active and you'll be able to visit your new domain and see the store.
Other considerations
Make sure if you've already linked to your store using the glu.io domain you go and update them.
